22 Crew Members Safely rescued from a Bulk Carrier

On 10 November, Saturday, A vessel MV Golden Ocean issued distress message when the fire broke out on the vessel. 22 crew members were successfully rescued safely from the vessel.
The vessel was heading to Bontang, Indonesia in ballast condition, where the fire was alarmed in the engine room. Immediately the distress message sent to local search and rescue authorities which sent to other firefighting tugs. The team extinguished the fire and safely evacuate 22 crew members from the vessel. All crew members are in safe now. As per the Indonesian Director General of Maritime Transport, the vessel was towed to the port of Loktuan. The initial cause of the fire is said to be trouble turbocharger of the main engine exploded, but investigation is going on to find out the exact cause of the engine room fire.
MV Golden Ocean is a handymax bulk carrier, IMO -8213847, Call Sign – POFG operated by a company named Tanto Intim Lime, plying under the Indonesian flag.
